“I’ve always been captivated by fabrics and British craftsmanship. I wanted to create beautiful, luxurious, but functional wardrobe staples that would last a lifetime. I’ve never worked to seasons, but instead focused on building the perfect capsule pieces that you’ll find yourself grabbing again and again.”
“Alex Eagle is for everyone; the designs are made to be building blocks for anyone’s wardrobe and can be dressed up or down accordingly. Sporting Club was born while spending a lot of time in the countryside with my family. I wanted to apply the same ideas of Alex Eagle to jersey pieces, creating timeless items that are also practical.”
“I wouldn’t say I have a love for fashion – it’s more style and fabrics. My brand is much more about making beautiful, seasonless pieces that are functional. This applies to the clothes we make, the furniture we design and the interiors we create.”
“These boots are by Jimmy Choo. I’m always on the search for classics and these are easy to walk in and literally elevate any outfit! The leather trousers are an Alex Eagle sample, and are more comfortable than any joggers; they’re silk-lined and 100% lamb leather. I probably won’t take them off until the summer. I love road-testing items before we launch them to ensure they’re a wardrobe classic, as we don’t want to overwhelm the studio with pieces we don’t all need. These will be available in February.”
“The bedrock of this outfit is The Soho Jacket by my own brand. This one is 100% cashmere in a camel colour, but we have a range of colours and fabrics available. It’s such an easy layering piece which elevates any outfit. Styled with vintage jeans and a baggy T-shirt, it’s the perfect weekend uniform.”
The necklace was made by my friend Sophie Keegan when I was pregnant with my third child, Luke, and the chunky gold bracelet was a present from my husband. It’s mid-century.”
I live in these Charvet slippers and have done for the past 15 years. I wear them as shoes all summer and slippers in the winter. The Charvet store in Paris is always my first stop when I’m there. It’s a classic menswear brand; I’ve been going there for years. They do make amazing colours, but I tend to stick to neutrals.”
“My engagement ring is also mid-century, with an old stone. The necklace is from Tiffany & Co and was a 16th birthday present from my aunt.”
“To me, something is timeless if you feel comfortable and it makes you feel yourself. It’s something that you find yourself reaching for first thing in the morning.”
“This is a really exciting collaboration with Grenson. We’ve adapted this style from the classic penny loafer; it’s been handmade in England from soft Italian grain-printed calf leather, with a matching black lining, and is the perfect elevated classic loafer.”
“My go-to look tends to rotate between great vintage denim, our new leather trousers or The Berwick joggers, which are a Sporting Club piece. I’ll usually have a piece of tailoring tied in, which instantly elevates any look.”
“When looking at where I might be in five years, I hope to be in the position to be still doing the same thing, building the perfect capsule wardrobe for men and women, made as locally as possible.”
“We’re looking for new London and New York locations, which has been a long process. Finding the next best location is a labour of love and isn’t something I want to rush.”
“The tricolour Kelly is as old as me. I got it as a gift for myself when I completed a new project. The red is also vintage. Other than my own brand, I love to invest in amazing vintage pieces that I will treasure forever and hopefully give to my daughter one day.”
“Our tailoring is one of the bedrocks of my brand. It’s all handcrafted by master tailors in our studio in Soho, using quality fabrics and trimmings. We have just launched our bespoke service which you can book via the website to have a one-of-a-kind suit made to fit you perfectly. I think a timeless suit is not overcomplicating it; a great fabric and a classic shape will go a long way.”
“This is a Rolex Prince, circa 1930. Many used to call it a doctor’s watch, as the large second hand can be used for timing the pulse. Over the years, many gold ones were discontinued, so finding one that’s all original, with the original dial, is rare these days.”
“The Ontisuka Tiger trainers are so easy and comfortable. I always wear them with tailoring; they work really well with our suits.”
“I have this vintage Cartier bangle from the late ’60s, but my Luke necklace was made by Sophie Keegan – she has made one for each of my children. My bracelets are by Irene Danilovich.”
“We have a collaboration launching at the end of January with Lavenham, which is a classic British outerwear brand, known for its quilted jackets. We’ve worked with them to create three refined wardrobe staples: a jacket, gilet and long coat. They’re all designed to have a masculine edge and to be easy to layer and build into anyone’s wardrobe.”
